Last Friday was a miserable day. After getting my ass chewed off by a raging Texas cattle rancher, I could not wait for the day to be over. Once I was home, and the cattleman's harsh words had at last faded, the night improved considerably. The weekend ensued and was, for the most part, a washout plagued by raging thunderheads and torrential downpours. I'm back at work today, feeling tentative and tired. I'm working on new assignment though or rather, I'm revamping an old piece that I think will fit this new assignment nicely. Its been a good exercise is pairing a larger piece down to a required word count. Letting go of words can be a painful but revealing experience.
