Istiqlál (Independence), 3 Asma (Names), 165 B.E. – Friday, August 22, 2008 about 7:32 AM PDT I realized this morning, while I was making entries in my offsite blogs that there are several events and commemorations I didn’t write poems for last year. Of course, 2007 wasn't a good year for me. If I 2007 was a bottle of wine, it would be sour, bitter and probably taste like the inside of an old shoe. Not that drink wine any more or even remember what it taste like, but I'm sure good wine doesn't taste like the inside of an old shoe. Anyway, to get back to the subject of this entry, I'm sure I didn't write a poem for writing.com's birthday. I'm also sure I didn't write a poem commemorating September 11. I didn't write a poem for Labor Day or Halloween (at least I don't think I wrote a poem for Halloween). October 31 is also the day Nevada became a state and it is when I joined writing.com If my memory serves me correctly, which I doubt sometimes, those are the only day I didn't commemorate in a poem. I'm going to correct that this year. I'm going to write a poem for each one of those and probably some other days I didn't write poem about in 2007. Life seems to be leveling out for me. It would be nice if it started going up hill, but I'm happy with level ground for a while. Let's face it climbing a hill or a mountain can be difficult, so a period of level ground is a nice change from going either down hill or up hill.
