Kamál (Perfection), 6 Asma (Names), 165 B.E. – Monday, August 25, 2008 5:46 PM Pacific Time I have a new obsession; it's making my minimum daily word count goal. I suppose that for a writer there could be a lot worse obsessions. At least, this one accomplishes something. How do I know it is an obsession? Because I am ill and instead of being in bed attempting to recover, so I can go to work tomorrow, I am making a blog entry. There is no logical reason for this. I am thirsty, which usually indicates I may be really ill. I am cranky also a good indication that I am ill. So instead of being in bed being miserable. I am setting at the computer being miserable. Not only that, but I lost the poem I wrote today. I have no idea where I put it. I will eventually find it, of course, but in the mean time I am going to have to compose another poem for my Year of the Poem manuscript. I think the poem was about morning prayers and mourning doves. On the other hand, I could just put off making the entry in that journal until if find the poem. It was a short poem and would not increase my word count by more then twenty words. Of course, that could mean the difference between making the word count and not making it. Maybe I need to take a day off and relax. On a side not, we finally got rain this afternoon. It thundered and then it rained it was beautiful. I love the sound of thunder. It did not lightning though. |
