Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills. |
Snow drapes Today snow drapes on Lolo Peak, sifts like powdered sugar that once quaked on mounds of pancakes my father flipped on Sunday mornings. One shake and socks, pyjamas, plates sat covered with the sweet white dust drowning in the melted butter, warming in the autumn frost. When snow finishes with Lolo Peak, it will seek to find my father's resting place, sprinkle him with sweet white dust, provide a blanket for the coming winter. © 2008 Kåre Enga [165.278] 2008-09-25 ME: The day after stress can be difficult too; but, I had salmon loaf for lunch and bought some bread to make a sandwich for supper. I met Jen, who once was an aspiring singer until she was hit by a drunk driver and went deaf. We talked about trauma. She praised my booklets. Tonight I was gifted a mirror. Small things count. It'll be easier to shave now. Not much perhaps, but today was a good day. Playing with paper Answer to Thomas : Playing with paper means how it folds (accordian, fourfold, pop-up, origami ...), how it can be held together (stable, rubberband, pin, brad, stitch ...) There are different colors, weights, textures, content (rice, cotton, iris, hemp, etc) as well. I want each booklet to be different as I'm trying to show my versatility and creativity. Paper is a magnificent medium for that. Montana: 55º at 21:30 ... again. 8035 |
