Long Distance Love
As I sit here pen in hand
I can see you dancing
your brown hair flowing
around your face in the wind

I can see your soft brown eyes
once you stop turning
at me they are staring
they seem to glitter in the sun

Your lips start to curl upwards
a beautiful smile they're revealing
seeing your smile is encouraging
my love for you to grow more

Slowly you begin to dance again
your moves are entrancing
timed with the wind a'blowing
my mind is captured with your beauty

Slowly you make your way to me
my face your fingers start caressing
then away from me your moving
taking my heart away with you

Slowly I drift back to realty
here in this barren land
that's full of sand
I'm sitting and waiting

My rifle stands next to me
protection that's meant for me
when the enemy comes to be
hunting for those who stand with me

In my hand I hold your picture
looking at it gives me hope
and the strength to cope
with the battles that continue to rage

It's the one of you with me
your in a long black dress
but your smile says it best
that together we're in love

we may be thousands of miles apart
but that love endures
at home I will ensure
to show you how much I love you

I still believe in what we're doing
fighting the good fight
putting the bad guys to flight
we'll keep protecting these people

I know that you'll support me
that you won't give up
until you pick me up
at the airport when I come home

I see you dancing again
your eyes are shining
your hair is flowing
I start to miss you even more

Which is why when I get home
I'll wrap you in a hug
and when we're all snug
I'll ask: Will you marry me?
