ABOUT MYSELF

I am an MBBS and MD [Medicine] from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, where I was additional professor till 1991. From there, I joined as professor at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi, where I later became the Dean. I have been a post-doctoral fellow of the United Nations University, Tokyo.  I have worked at the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama as a Post-doctoral Fellow and have an MPH degree from San Carlos University, Guatemala.





I was the recipient of National Citizen Award, 1991. I have written many research papers and books, including a Textbook of Preventive and Social Medicine [Third edition, 2003] and a reference book titled Health and Law. I have attended several international conferences in many countries, including USA, for professional work.





After retirement, I changed profession. I got my LL.B. from Delhi University and LL.M. from Kurukshetra University, with specialization in environmental law and dissertation in Consumer Law as applicable to medical services. I am a member of the Indian Law Institute and the Supreme Court Bar Association.





Since 2001, I have been practicing as a lawyer, with the medico-legal field as my specialty.





Since January 2003, I have been writing poetry in English and Hindi.
