This is my book of poetry that I hope to eventually publish with photos. |
Slave! Bend your back beneath the weight, The more you carry the better, Slave! Take this hand across your face, Choose forever to remain, Slave! Beaten, bloodied, held, forced, But you choose your own course, Slave! How easy it is to blame others, Your misery apparent and self-inflicted, Slave! Your master does only what he is, For you have chosen to remain, Slave! Slave to sin, Slave to mammon, Slave! Slave to lies, Slave to perversion, Slave! Slave to rebellion, Slave to alcohol, Slave! Slave to darkness, Slave to bitterness, Slave! The chains were shattered, They lay at my feet, I stared in wonder, Was I truly free? And yet others attempt, To return the binds, To lock the shackles, To remain, Slaves. Where is your freedom? It was paid for so highly. Who knew the price? He did and still paid it. So why are you bound, By those things that hold you? It's because you haven't surrendered, To the One that freed you. Are you going to remain, In solitary confinement, Or run through the open gates, And rejoice in His chambers? It's your choice, He gave you the key, After He paid the ransom, To set you free. The door is locked from inside, Only you can unlatch it, And until you do, You will always be sins Slave! March 24, 2009 |
