Calling all Gentle Readers to the February Blogdown, beginning this Monday, Feb. 15.
Only 500 gps to enter; requirement: WDC Blog Here's the Prompts to which we shall blog: 1)Do you think WDC maintains a good balance between Creative Fiction (novels, short stories, poetry, flash fiction, etc.) and nonfiction (journals, blogs, essays, journalistic articles, etc.)? Is there a home on WDC for nonfiction writers? Are there opportunities for nonfiction writers to be reviewed properly? 2)What's your venue? Novels-poetry-short stories-flash fiction-blogging-journalizing-essay-feature articles-or other? Why did you choose to write in this venue-or did it choose you? 3)Describe your Ideal Writing Environment. This can be one you already possess, or a dream of yours. Describe in vivid detail so readers can participate vicariously, please. 4)Select one current issue (an event, an ongoing need such as health-care, anything that has current relevance-may be local, national, global.PLEASE no religious or political or ethnic bashing! Just discuss both sides of the issue/event/process and if possible, offer up some solutions. For example: on health care, you might suggest possible outcomes, mention the duration of the problem (years, decades, etc.). You don't have to choose this issue-I'm making an example. Up to you! 5)Discuss publishing, in terms of your own particular brand of writing. Are you published? If so, what level of difficulty did you experience? Are you satisfied with your experiences? If not, do you wish to be? What has prevented you? What steps are you taking to publication? Do you network with others who are striving to publish (either on WDC or elsewhere, online or f2f).
