Love is not a victory march
Some of you already know this, but I had to say it here eventually, and the summer solstice is as good a day for announcing changes as any:
My wife is dumping me like yesterday's trash.
I'm still not entirely sure why, and it doesn't really matter. I say it's because she couldn't take how awesome I am. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Not much to say, really. It's not the end of the world. Fortunately, we don't have kids (a situation for which I'd thank God if I thought there were one to thank), and on the plus side for me, I get to keep the house. It is, after all, mine.
And I'm taking it really well, all things considered. It's not like I don't care; it's more that my fuckit has trampled my giveashit into the ground.
But just because it's not the end of the world doesn't mean I'm not going to get drunk and listen to Brandi Carlile.
And this song. A lot:
Maybe there's a God above
But all I ever learned from love
Is how to shoot at someone who outdrew you.
It's not a cry you can hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
Its a cold
and it's a
broken
Hallelujah...
