Bag you own damn cherries

Sarah Bags-her-own-moose
waves at Russians,
winks that she doesn't think
Hawai'ians are quite
"one of us",
wears a frock so red
that Russians cheer,
offering to trade her Moscow's smoke
for choke cherries,
her cousin's cherries,
Sarah Bag-your-own-damn-cherries.

I was at market and a bag was $3, $2 if you bagged your own. It went downhill from there.



Still reading the anthology of Western poets. Over 500 pages and hundreds of poems. Still need to read California, Oregon, Washington poets.



Calm now, but it could be rainy later. Already below 60º.
