Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills. |
Me: I'm wet. Still. Walked to a friend's house only to find out that the meeting was canceled. Got soaked. But I did see a rainbow! And even caught some pictures with the alpenglow on Mt. Sentinel. Note: Montana was cooler than normal this year while the East Coast baked in record heat. Ten states had their warmest summer on record--Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. (from Wunderground) Santa Barbara, CA (Ojai, where Sheila lives, is not far from there) was the only major U.S. city that had its coldest summer on record, though several other California cities were unusually cool. San Diego had its 3rd coolest summer, and the Los Angeles airport had its 2nd coolest summer. The Muse... such as I call him... seems to have come back after a snooze. But... no time to sit and just write. There are things to do before vacating this place for California. Did get to the Senior Center for Swedish pancakes.. one must keep up appearances. Ate too much though. Tonight: a snack of melon and feta. Lavinia has this idea of having a "house" party this autumn. Everyone I've talked to likes the idea. Maybe October? I used to give parties, so this idea is close to my heart. You: Anabel gave me a link that may help solve my problems with getting to Eureka/Arcata from Redding. It would entail taking three different local buses, 7 hours and cost about $13.50. Just to go 150 miles... but it would be better than going to Oakland and coming back up the coast. That takes 14 hours from Redding. 19,923 |
