Five of Earth

From the GaianTarot the 5 of Earth depicts a hiker deep in the woods --he has managed to build a shelter from twigs and debris and is managing to survive. The card is about having the necessary skills to survive a hardship. On this anniversary of 9/11 it seems a fitting card. For all of us are survivors on a deep level. Our world is not the same as it was before that date.

On a personal level my world has changed significantly in recent months. But I am surviving the economic and health changes. I feel like I am creating my own safe haven----working less hours--refusing to be sucked into the management spiral again---attending to my own unique, specific needs and desires. My dreams and goals are the antithesis of what is thought of as the American dream. I want to live more simply, to live frugally. To only be profligate with my time---to throw time away on my family, my loved ones, the things I am most passionate about.

Today--be kind--for everyone is facing hardship. Be a survivor---help another to survive!
