Hawai'i as in Kona? Are you kidding?

I met a vegan from Manhatten (NY) who has lived in Bozeman (MSU) for 10 years. He told me about a sweet restaurant in downtown San Jose (Costa Rica) that he visited with his Colombian grandmother...

...and then he mentioned the Big Island... as in Hawai'i and that there are cheap flights sometimes from Portland and Seattle. Well, I did find cheap flights (<$360) from Seattle through San Francisco (much more expensive from SFO-SanFran or from MSO-Missoula, about $300 more). Now... I have this two month Greyhound Ameripass that I need to use to its fullest. Would it be a crime to fly to Hawai'i for a week. Visit the Big Island, stay in hostels or couchsurf? I mean... would I DARE!

Were I to be so bold, it would be best to do before November 15 ...

Also... if Bugzy keeps bugging me about visiting BC... I just might!
