Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills. |
ME: 55º and I'm inside? I get this urge to continue to play cave bear when it is no longer necessary. At least I saw yellowbells in bloom yesterday and went to see Ciao Professore at the university. Charming movie. I highly recommend it. I don't recommend the various poetry readings around town. Some are good, but others perpetuate the falsehood that poetry is boring. I'm not fond of Poetry slams but at least there's some energy. Go to a reading here and you're likely to snooze. Thomas is a good reader, Fallein is very good, Kwasny tomorrow should be fine, but many of the younger poets are all performance or n.o.n.e. The MFA, BFA, university types tend to be n.o.n.e. I like content when I read for myself, but expect to be able to hear the poet at a reading and a bit of performance, or at least preparation, doesn't hurt. Read Sillitoe, finished Emily D., reading Kwasny. Sitting with a cup of coffee and my energy plummets... My lack of energy has been noticeable. Sleeping a tad better since I switched beds though and woke up earlier. Didn't stay up though. Took picture of my "window" display by my door. Pics of Costa Rica, sugar packets, frogs, La Negrita bottle with plant cuttings. Posted at facebook. Posted a separate photo of La Negrita too. No comments yet from my neighbors. Been writing in both English and Spanish. Hope to share some stuff tomorrow night with my writer's group. They've been erratic; I'm erratic, so we'll see. Need to mine my journal for a real blog entry. The stuff I post here is boring ME! 21,649 |
