Partying with Thor

Clouds clash, gather skirts and flee.
Mere wisps of annoyance trail behind,
turn pink in clearing sky, pale to puce.

We glisten by moonlight, at canyon’s echo,
as grumbles move east. The plash of water's fall
after the thunder revives us. We'd rather forget

that deafening crackle and flash, that blindness.
Next party we swear we’ll invite old Saturn instead,
let Thor and Frieda duke it out at home.
