YOU ARE NIGH, I CAN’T TOUCH YOU: a ghazal
YOU ARE NIGH, I CAN’T TOUCH YOU: a ghazal
[Uncertain moves.]
You are nigh, I can’t touch you,
Unless you are willing too.
This veil of uncertainty,
I just cannot see it through.
A quaint desire in my heart,
Incessantly it does brew.
They haunt me all day and night;
How can your thoughts I eschew?
Khalish, when you walked away,
That day I shall ever rue.
*. Written in 7-7 format. Khalish, the nom-de –plume, is an Urdu word meaning pain or ache.
