I travel the country on business, sometimes the world. Come see where I've been. |
Good Morning my friends. This week finds me in south central Washington State, in the tri-cities area. I'm in Richland Washington this week, and despite being cold and rainy, I love it. You might ask why, and the reason is, I lived in the Puget Sound area for 10 years, and have always loved this area of the country. I know, I know. The area here is more like the countryside I grew up in, in New Mexico, but it's still the Northwest, and I love the area. I found a couple of small micro-breweries this week, Ice Harbor over in Kennewick is nice, but small. (Nothing wrong with that). But if you ever come here, I'd recommend you dine at Anthony's. A nice seafood restaurant (yes, they're a chain, so you can find this elsewhere too). But this one is right on the Columbia River (as is my hotel, my room overlooks the river, and has a small veranda off it), with a view of the river and surrounding area. I loved the Dungeness Crab salad I had, as well as the BBQ'd Oysters. The restaurant is a little more 'fancy' than I find comfortable, you know the kind, tablecloths, silver laid out just so, not wrapped, cobalt blue goblets for water, etc. But that didn't stop me from enjoying it. Also, the price was right too. And it's the only place I've been that has a wine sampler for you, three small (3 oz each) of either Chardonnay or Cabernet. Future trips on the horizon right now are Los Angeles (in two weeks), Nashville a week after my surgery, Laughlin AFB in Texas in mid-March, Tampa Florida a week later, and Houston Texas in April. See you next time round. ** Image ID #1840790 Unavailable ** Jim Dorrell |
