Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills. |
Third day a charm? Well, it went okay... Yo: ...except that this culture can drive me bonkers. Ticos are nosy ...as in NOSY. One friend kept asking certain questions and, cornered, I told him the truth. How this affects our relationship or my relationship with others we shall see. Ticos are also the kings of the gossip. And I feel a bit trapped between my landlord and his ex. Another drama I don't want to be pulled into. Ticos feed on social drama. I don't. But it was a good day. I went to market again and bought tomatos, papaya, plantains, garlic, chiles. Upon my return on a very warmish day I was able to take a shower. Which was nice because the water has been off in the afternoon. The drought may be lifting. I managed to edit a recent poem before I presented it at the Writer's Group tonight. It was fairly well received. Needs work but what new poem doesn't? Visited Johnny as he got back the day after I did. He did not like Plano, Texas. Nice walk home. Some people like late summer here. I don't. It gets hot and muggy and worse if it rains a little but not enough. We need the rain. 10 blooms on my verdolaga today. It suffered while I was gone but it should be okay. I've thought of buying about three to five more plants to add to my collection. That'll give me plenty of time to enjoy them. Well it's quite late here. G'dnight all. 28.481 |
