The Continuing Saga of Prosperous Snow |
April 1, 2012, Day One ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is An Earlian Prompt. In honor of the journey ahead, list your must-haves for a successful road trip. Feel free to expand with your favourite road trip anecdote. Must haves for a Successful Road Trip A prayer book A pen and paper journal An extra set of car keys A GPS system programmed to find the rest stops and restaurants A Harley-Davidson t-shirt A full tank of gas Snacks and a thermos of hot coffee A spare tire and axel jack A cell phone and battery charger A video camera I haven’t been on a lot of road trips in my life, at least not the exciting ones I’ve seen on television or in the movies. The last road trip I participated in, I ended up on the Pacific Coast highway with a flat tire and a fender jack (which explains the axel jack on the list above). I can change a flat tire. I’ve no objections to changing a flat tire. I object to changing a flat when the only type of jack I have is a fender jack. A fender jack (I know from experience) isn’t as safe as an axel jack. Anyway, I changed the flat tire and all through the experience I expected the fender jack to give out and I will leave what could have happened up to you imagination. However, I did learn one thing; a woman on the side of a highway is completely safe as long as she has a tire iron in her hand, which explains why I carry a tire iron in my car when I don’t have an axel jack.
