Parrot Fish

In reality I think,
Albeit it’s quite nutritious,
In this case I assume,
Given that marine life is so abundant,
You shouldn’t have to resort to eating something so hard.

In spite of my curious observations,
Coupled with your crushing bites,
Not to mention the teeth that grind way down in your throat,
To say nothing of your sand producing proclivities,
The poor coral doesn’t stand a chance as you search out your microscopic algae dinner.

On the other hand, I’ve never seen,
For example, a fish wearing pajamas,
But I haven’t been looking,
While you’re cocooned in your mucus resting,
Your predators swim right by and miss having you for dinner.

Thus the cycle continues
Wherever parrot fish are found
Simply they crush up the coral
Then they put on their pajamas,
Colorfully living where ever coral is found.
