Thursday, June 21, 2012, Day 22 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "Housework is overrated. Yes or no?" Daily mundane chores Bottomless laundry hamper Full ... overflowing The answer to that question depends on how I feel at any given time. I know that sounds like a copout, but it just depends on how I feel and how well I am focusing on the mundane. I believe focus is the key to doing housework. I can set my priorities, but if I am unable to focus on a given task for one reason or another, I toss the priorities into the recyclable bin. Daily mundane chores Dirty dishes in the sink Check the dishwasher My grandmother was a wonderful housekeeper. Grandma did not believe housework overrated. For her it was a labor of love, which bordered on an obsession. If grandma could not sleep, she would get up and do housework. I, on the other hand, take a different approach to sleeplessness and insomnia. If I cannot sleep, I get up and work at the computer, read, write in a journal, say prayer, meditate, or do Sudoku. I believe housework is something you do in broad daylight with all the curtains open and the lights on. Daily mundane chores Is housework overrated Yes – when I have something else to do No – when I need a reason to procrastinate Maybe – when I am bored or depressed
