Saturday, June 23, 2012, Day 23 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Everyone talks about the weather but nobody ever does anything about it. Discuss in detail how the weather affects you and what sort of things you do or have done to cope with the weather conditions. June is here at last With its triple digit blast I try avoidance On June 1, 2012, the temperature reached 105 degrees for the first time this year. The weather bureau released an excessive heat warning which did not do me much good because I had no choice except to go out and conduct business. My method of dealing with triple digit temperatures is avoidance as much as possible. Always plan ahead Knowing when I must go out Helps me remain cool I plan my trips. I wear sunscreen. I carry one or two bottles of cold water. I drive with my windows down (this does not help much, but I have no other choice). Next week I am planning to go out Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and then the week after that the plan (at this time) is Tuesday and Thursday. I prefer to have a day between trips outside the house so that I can recover from the heat. It takes a while to become used to triple digit temperatures (if this is possible). Remain hydrated And plan my trips carefully Take the quickest route Since I am planning to go out on Monday, I will drink plenty of water and juice on Sunday. On Monday, I will take cold water or ice tea; something to keep me cool. I will get out early as possible, which means I have to be completely ready to go once the daycare bus picks up Mom.
