I travel the country on business, sometimes the world. Come see where I've been. |
You know, there have been great meetings in the history of the world. FDR met Churchill, Clay met Liston, JFK met Kruschev, Astaire met Rogers, and Harry met Sally. But none of those compare to the meeting that occurred last week. On an overcast day at Redondo Beach California, Sum1 met Giselle. The beautiful and wonderful, mysterious Giselle, she of WDC fame, site renown for her forum, loved by many. In return, she has met the self proclaimed, "Most Mysterious Man In The World". He of some WDC fame, inheritor of a wonderful forum, lover of poetry, cherished by a few that he allows close to his personal life. Okay, so it wasn't a world changing meeting, but it was nice to meet the woman behind the suitcase, the one who almost single-handedly created the Anniversary Review forum. Our talk revolved around who we are and how we got here, as well as WDC things. I can be pretty naive about the big picture at times, so she enlightened me a little. There is still so much for me to learn here on WDC, one day I will learn it all, except by then we'll have new rules. I was actually in California to deliver a class for Los Angeles County, and spent the week in Pacoima, a small town north of the San Fernando valley. Meeting Giselle was the icing on the cake for me, and started my week off very nicely. Once the class was done, I spent Friday being a beach bum near Santa Monica Pier, having lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp on the pier. The heat in Chicago broke as I left, and followed me to LA; most of the week it hovered near 100 degrees. I hope y'all are managing to remain cool in this summer's heat. My only thought about all this is, if the summer is this excessively hot, will the coming winter be equally excessively cold? Brrrrrrrr,,,,,,, ** Image ID #1840790 Unavailable ** Jim Dorrell |
