"Here in this body are the sacred rivers; here are the sun and moon, as well as the pilgrimage places. I have not encountered another temple as blissful as my own body" ~sahara Write about your own "temple" in response to this quote. "The Temple of Legitimate Rape" He enters my temple to worship my warmth. He stays for one night, leaves at the dawning. He leaves without looking. He'll never know: the rubies I hoard, the sparks hid within, the secrets I share ...only with lovers, those seeking to meld deep with my soul. My spirit remains untouched by his hands My soul's inner essence ...immaculate still. He'll never taste the wine that he's missing. I'm more than a craving, more than a kiss. © Kåre Enga [169.78] 2012-08-21 I chose "legitimate rape" from the news of Rep. Akin of Missouri's bad-ass blooper. Since no one quite knows what it means, it seemed ambiguous enough to fit. The body as temple for the soul is a religious concept I work on here. I figure the temple can be entered without being defiled. But also without being understood. Since this was a quick write, I'll have to sit with it, expand it, edit it ...whatever it takes if it still speaks to me tomorrow... and was more than a one-night-stand. 67.896 |
