Universal Health care ...first and last.

Tuesday, August 28, 2012 ~ Day 28 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is "What health issues are important to you?"

The only health issue that is important to me is Universal Health Care. I want to stop worrying over getting ill. I want to be able to walk into a clinic and not know that bad news means I can lose what little I have, when a doctor's bill costs more than severe illness or surgery in a country that in fact has a decent health care system.

I want it to include everyone, no questions asked. If certain people are at risk genetically they can at least deal with it as a health issue and not a financial issue. Risky behavior can be treated as such without criminalizing or ostracizing.

The lack of a humane system reflects badly on the American people. We are known as a greedy (mine not yours), non-caring (mine not yours), me-me-me society.

I predict: it will change or it will not end well.
