Objets d'art. [169.117]
If I put one new/old poem in this blog every day I'll NEVER catch up! But good, bad or ugly... I must try to do more editing.
Objets d'art
They were named Skinny, Fat Boy, Stumpy or Sissy.
Labeled, laughed at, bullied.
But Carl's grown past that,
burst his cocoon, flexed his wings.
He struts assured in his Italian wardrobe,
his gold wedding ring.
Past all name-calling,
he's climbed life's mountains.
His fav color is green.
On the top,
he catches the first glimmer of gold,
basks through the warmth of the day,
holds onto the last dying rays.
In the valley,
the sun rarely shines
for those still wearing their labels.
Too beat down
by moon-shine or moonshine
to choose other names,
they remain naked in poorly lit cells
for the public to see,
wrapped up in cellophane, unable to move,
like bad art in a museum,
their flaws on display.
