Not so pretty in pank...

The band looked awesome in hot neon pank tassles but the team didn't do so hot. Montana lost to Southern Utah 20-30 and could end up with their first losing season in... in... like... forever!

Me:

A game ticket costs $32 which is up over 25% since I moved here; a meal at the senior center costs $7 ...up 40%. My income has not gone up that much (more like 5%).

The point is... basic items that poor folk use have gone up in price more than discretionary items. Poor folk have felt the recession in ways that the wealthy, the privileged and trust-funders have not.

That is part of the simmering anger in the U.S.A. The reason for the Tea Party and the Occupation movement. But instead of focusing on who brought it about they blame the wrong people. Ask who brought us a war and then didn't fund it? Who insists on cutting social programs but extends tax cuts for the wealthy. Do the American people pay attention? Not really.

So, financially I'm doing really well. But that's because I can live on next to nothing and have done without toys for so long it doesn't bother me much.

In other snews: called John G., an old co-worker of mine. He's 47! I told him he's O.L.D. It does seem that we remember folks the way we last saw them. It's been nigh on 10 years. I'm sure John has aged a bit. Glad he sounded good.

This morning I went to market as usual. Lavinia and Ruth sang. Ate a huckleberry pie made by Peter Clavin (Peter the Pie Guy) who also has an M.A. in Lit. and looking for a PhD program in African-American Liturature. Bought some bockwurst from Bill the sausage guy. Drank coffee (duh...). Bought a tomato and fig jam. Only two more markets left this year.

Afterwards I sauntered up to the MAM (art museum) and did some inked leaves prints. Had lots of fun. Geared towards children the mothers were having a blast too. I was the only man in the room. (Men need to relearn how to play... imho.)

So that's all for today. So far s'okay.
