The January 20, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUSOpen in new Window. is
BLOG. Tell us about your week, include your favorite blog entry from your fellow challengers from the preceding week, and, most importantly, why.

The Sunday Review or the things I need to do;
I am behind on my reading and my housework, too.

If I had my choice,
I would only read, write, and review,
but my soul inhabits a body
that needs daily food and drink
not to mention at 66
the medications I take.

The laundry needs washing,
the dishes put away
and I have check the slow cooker
or I won't eat pasta today.

I must add one other thing
to my list of things to do
I have to do some rewriting
of novels, short stories, and poetry, too.

This is the entry, "Invalid EntryOpen in new Window., this week that gave me something to think about. I always like entries that make me think and exercise my brain because if I'm thinking about something I don't worry.

Today is a free day, so blog on whatever your heart desires, and have a wonderful day!

Sunday morning
and the birds are singing,
they are perched
in the last dying pine tree
in my front yard;
the birds are joyfully
greeting the sun.

Sunday morning
and my coffee is brewing;
the neighbors across the street
haven't removed
the Christmas wreath hanging on their front door.

Sunday morning
and it's a free day
for some,
but not for me;
because I'm never free
of the memories...
in the morning silence
I hold my breath
listening for my name,
waiting for Mom to call out,
waiting for her to request
a cup
of hot black coffee.

Thought for the Day: It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare. - Mark Twain
