Drop by drop the snow pack dies, watering the arid lands below. |
The March 29, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum" is If you could be any fictional character in the world, who would you choose to be? Why? What fictional character would I chose to be? I would chose to be Arwen Undomiel for several reasons. First, Arwen is a strong woman, not like the strong women author's envision today, she was a strong woman because she made the hard choice. Knowing that her choice to love and marry Aragon would make her a mortal woman, she still chose to marry him. Of her own free will, she chose to give up her elven immortality for love and this is the sign of a strong woman. If I could be a fictional character, I would be Arwen Undomiel, Arwen Evenstar; fair elven maid she made the choice of love and died a mortal woman. Thought of the Day: βThe world is indeed full of peril and in it there are many dark places. But still there is much that is fair. And though in all lands, love is now mingled with grief, it still grows, perhaps, the greater.β ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings My Thoughts on Choice It is choice, free will, that sets human beings apart from all other animals and gives the human spirit immortality. Each day we must chose between acts of love and faith or fear and doubt; it is the choice of love that gives hope, faith, and eternal life to the human soul. |
