April 12
The prompt for day 12 from napawrimo.net is to write a poem where you tell someone (boss, family, friend, etc.) what you really think. So I did.
NaPoWriMo--Day 12
The Suits
When I sit with the suits at work,
marketers, directors, co-assistant whatevers,
the odious human resource manipulators
I wonder what planet you live on?
You gush about entrepreneurial techniques,
mergers and acquisitions,
bake sales for cancer cures,
cocktails for Alzheimers.
Daily, I sit with Dorothy who is dying,
Loretta, always crying,
and Mac who just wants to go home.
I want to scream,
that caring is not a spreadsheet,
people are not profits,
and our mission is not the bottom line.
