Change

This will be a new life
for that photo of years ago
as I no longer search
my hollow obscurity in sepia.

There is nothing there
but my old name and your shadow
and if a door opens,
I won’t go back in.

Time will decompose,
forming new wrinkles,
and my steps will quicken forward
while I'll still think about you.
