Aphasia

My aphasic patient
manages to sputter about an astrological event tonight.
Stunned, I reply and sing,
"when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie",
everyone joins in, laughing and agreeing.
Driving home
hanging in the evening sky
a feathery gibbous moon.
I am mute.
