What are These Whispers

what are these whispers adrift upon a crowd,
now reaching me, like small pebbles rolling
over sand, bringing me a hurt, a man
lost in some confusion, s simple voice, a cry

and then we parted to the siren wail,
a bitter music in the air and I
still seeing your face, as they closed the door,
a little smile marooned upon your lips

what music can I share, a beautiful
woman asking me to tell her what happened
and you were just a stranger that I saw,
with a simple knot binding us together

and only now that everyone is gone, I sing
the music of your whispers, everything
