War Chest Wednesday: Midweek Reflections on Waiting in Line

It's War Chest Wednesday! The November 20, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS"  is
What was the longest amount of time you spent waiting in line for something? What was it, and was it worth the wait?

According to http://wiki.answers.com the average American spends about one hour each day waiting in line, which add up to a lifetime of "2 to 3 years" waiting in line.1 The longest I can remember waiting in line for something was two hours and I was waiting in line at Lutheran Social Service for food. Yes, it was worth the wait, but then I consider waiting for food, coffee, and autographs from actors in science fiction or fantasy films worth the wait. These are things I will stand in line for, but other things are not worth the wait unless I can sit down while I am waiting.

Midweek Reflections on Waiting in Line

A lifetime spent in waiting lines
sitting at the doctor's office,
standing at the Department of Motor Vehicles,
or ordering a morning cup of Hot Joe;
is the wait worth it
when you consider
that on the day of your death
you will also
have to wait for the undertaker
to transport you
to the morgue.
