Are eBooks for eMen?
www.createspace.com is where it's at these days. The publisher that can't say no. (Cos why would you want to say no to yourself?)

This seems a fantastic opportunity for quick publishing, getting your novels out there, getting money back in here.
You're happy, publisher can't say no, or make you wait such a long time for an answer that when it comes will probably be no anyway.

Tou are now one of the elite people who are published!

Well I was all fired up about this idea, but still a few thoughts that niggled, such as, if it's an eBook then it will seem as if I don't feel it's good enough for traditional publishing.

Another thing is, the novel I have ready for editing now that could become and eBook, is the second one in a series, and may mean that my first one won't get published later. That cannot happen. I want to give my first one the best chance.

There's another niggling thought.

Just do the editing and submit to the traditional publishers, properly. Stop procrastinating.

I found this interesting article for anyone who IS thinking of going the eBook route, from anywhere except the US.

There is 30% of your gross earnings in royalties WITHHELD. Sort of knocks the shine off things, but it's not the end. There is a procedure for reclaiming these earnings back. A bit annoying seeing as you earned this in the first place, but this is reality. At least it's possible.

Are YOU going to try the eBook treadmill race?

My nano novel final word count at the close of trading (writing) on Friday night here in Ulverstone Australia, but there will be lots of changes, bits polished over, more additions made.

There are a lot of weeds grown up among all that creativity. Spelling, punctuation, grammar.
A lot of characterisation, setting, scenery and dialogue stuff needs to be added.

One guy doesn't even have a first name. It just didn't seem important. But calling him Mr Richardson all the time did wear a bit thin.
