Daily notes and timed freewrites but mostly my blog |
The end of another weekend and with it the end of my three day writing window I have every week. I find it very interesting that when I had a 24/7 window for months and months to sit and write, I found other things to do instead. And now, when I have such limited time for writing, my muse is starting to wake up and she is kicking me to get my attention. To review my activities this weekend... I didn't do 1 read/rate/review as I had planned; I did 3 this weekend (all of them yesterday). It seems to help when I know the people (or if I am at least familiar with the people) whose work I am reading/rating/reviewing. I did read/rate/review 1 person whom I never reviewed before this week end...so I have balanced my reviewing activities to include strangers I successfully added a chapter to Joy 's "Pass the Write-Baton" and earned a wonderful note and 500gps in the process. I still need to write something for my campfire "Timing is Everything" , but as I am just now eating my dinner I have several hours to get that accomplished--since it isn't my turn just yet, I will place my next campfire entry into my "freewrites: prompts, scenes, or teasers" until my turn comes up. I will be able to edit my addition so much easier in the journal, also. I also need to generate some story ideas for those 1-3 short stories I plan to write yet this month. It helps if I don't wait until the last weekend to start them lol. Unplanned for and unforeseen, I have also started going through one of my original unfinished novel manuscripts and have stirred up some sweet rustlings within my muse. Malyn has whispered into my ear this weekend. I think my niece may have something to do with this awakening. At least, I prefer to blame her enthusiasm for sparking my own. Just like smiles and laughter are contageous, enthusiasm for the craft is contageous. All in all, this weekend has proven to be a very satisfying three days. |
