The Art of Compromise ** Image ID #1985195 Unavailable ** The cakes tilted this way and that - a pyramid of old top hats with flowers dripping from the seams. It looked a nightmare, not sweet dreams. "You can't be serious," she said, squinting her eyes, cocking her head. "Such are ways of compromise," I murmured, laughter in my eyes. "You told me of your fantasy – a cake unique for all to see. You said, I quote, a cake that towers sporting all the spring time flowers." "And wait until you taste the cake – I chose real Bourbon; not a fake flavoring like 'Spring Sunbeams'." I heard the crashing of her dreams. "I'm sure your Mom had some advice: 'include the groom just to be nice' thinking the more that I'm involved the less objections. Problem solved!" "I listen to each word you say but sometimes words get in the way. Just tell what you really mean; I never learned to 'read between'." "Marriage is made of give and take and you should choose the wedding cake. I'm not equipped (It's self-protection) to pick and choose nuptial confection." She hugged me and picked out "the one." There's still a lot that needs be done. I think we're starting off quite well. I guess that only time will tell. She is my love ... and soon, my wife. I'm sure the years will have some strife. But, we'll avoid the true disaster – there won't be any slave or master. We'll learn the art of compromise and, with time, as we grow wise our partnership, like love, will grow. For now, that's all we need to know. Day 4 entry for "Invalid Item" Prompt: Visit this web site Chose one cake that you love. Write about the visual beauty and about the exquisite taste.
