The Ring's Chronicle
I am her wedding ring,
all that’s left of a
woman long ago.
Passed down through the ages,
weathered by time,
a symbol of eternal connection.
I tell her story,
and record her life,
and hope someone will find her.
Given at the altar,
shiny and new,
to a beautiful bride.
My diamond small,
but given with love,
a symbol of the future.
As time marched on,
I became marked
with life’s supplications.
At times too big,
at times too small,
but forbidden from leaving her finger.
Now passed to her daughter,
I live once more.
Shiny and new again.
