Specters in the Mist

In the mystic depths, a tragedy,
Lost souls from years ago.
Try escape their watery graves
Trapped in their prison below.

They float on the wind like cellophane,
They appear, but cannot be seen.
Mourning their deaths, a cryptic cry;
In the air, their wailing keen.

Disguised by the clouds, the callous moon;
Shrouded by the fathomless sea.
Forgotten by time and memory,
Unknown dreams that will never be.
