How to Get Out of Bed


I wake early,
the sun peaking in,
reminding me it time to wake up.

Although I have nothing
planned for the day,
my morning routine must be done.

I yawn and stretch,
and dress for my exercise.
My treadmill is calling,
and will not be ignored.

Although I am tired
and not in the mood,
I know it will wake me
and get me to move.

After my shower, I do my hair
and get some words on paper.
I am awake, my routine is done.

But as I look around,
I am alone,
No messages online,
Nowhere to go,
So I go back to bed.
