A Fiend in Need …


Moans and groans floated eerily
winding their way down deserted corridors.
A red-tinged imp,
roused from his demonic slumbers,
followed the sounds.
He came upon an apparition,
looking like a pile of castoff
bed clothes,
from which the crying emanated.
“Ohhhh,” cried the ghost,
“I think I had too many
Lady Highlander’s Head Takers
last night. I’ve such a headache!”
“There’s an easy solution to that,”
quipped the imp. “Lay off the boos!”
His attempt at helpfulness
was met with a louder groan.
“Why should you care?” asked the ghost.
“Everyone knows ~ demons are
a ghouls best friend.”
