In every generation there is always a boyband during the teen years and during mine was New Kids on the Block. Their third album released in June 1990 and the group was very popular and heavily merchandised in t-shirts, pillow cases, dolls, marbles, and even a Saturday morning cartoon.

The song describes how a guy is going to get the girl he wants step by step. After following his steps of attracting and getting the girl's attention then the boy will have the girl. This is the type of song that any teenage girl will love it because it gives them an insight on how a boy goes after a girl, whether it will work in real life is another thing all together. At the time this song came out I remember it being played everywhere. I also remember going to a New Kids concert with Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer who were very popular as well at the time. It was so hard to hear the singing with all the screaming girls other than that the concert was great. I do have to say I loved these guys when I was a teenager.
