To Shine Or Not To

What I let shine of mine
at any given time
is the difference between
you being here or me being misaligned.

The variables will either separate
or detonate us.
The test patterns keep us together
for now.
To shimmer and shine
or tarnish and fade...
questions everyone should ask
when reaching to be remembered
while laying it all on the line.
