Day 7: "The Dragon" continuing... 118 words

I continue to write this story, at least 100 words at a time. One of these days, I hope to get on a roll and write quite a bit more at once, but the 100 words per day is the habit that I am trying to form, so I am happy with that for now.

“Compose a message to Research Command: Officer 3rd Class Torgan Klidvivan Azflq Draco reporting from Research Vessel Varx. Ship was ambushed by pirates. All hands perished except for myself. I have assumed command of the vessel and have resumed course to original destination. Attaching copy of computer records of the ambush. Please confirm receipt of this transmission and decision to continue mission.”

“Message composed and records attached.”

“Send message.”

“Message sent.”

“Incoming message: Message from Officer 3rd Class Draco received. Research commands confirms decision to continue with mission. We will ready another ship in three years' time to rendezvous with you at destination and provide fresh supplies and a replacement crew. We regret the loss of our comrades.”
