the sudden occurrence of age?
Of being able to switch gears
and actually gain a step?
I'm not wiser, just
slower to jump into a bad idea.
Why do you still hit me
into thinking like a thunderstorm
about to strike on your way
to shelter?
I have no alibi. I won't hide
when you're not on my side
anymore. Not like
before.
We're not kids being kids
and it's time for you to see
that it's just not me.
As I see it,
sometimes less is more
than the sum of broken parts
and half-assed hearts.
When your switch hits on,
can I be your audience
and can I sincerely clap
after you closed curtain to me
for trying to topple the obvious
or overcoming what you see
in me?
Don't answer just listen;
don't look just learn.
It's happening too soon
yet it's overdue.
And someday it will happen to you.
