Wow! you really posted a really iffey prompt for me. I am a self proclaimed animal lover, but I am not vegetarian either. Let me see if I can explain my position:

I have been thinking about this all night, If I had the opportunity to run with the bulls at the Fiesta would I do it. I need to answer No. I know what their fate is and I just couldn't' get excited over that. Even though I understand that the meat is given out amongst the poor, and that is a good thing. If it truly is. My dad was an advocate of bull fights, he tried to get me to believe the very same thing. I owned a bull at one time. I got him as a drop calf. After bottle feeding him and, of course naming him Charlie, My husband gave me a choice when he old enough and big enough. I could pay to have him butchered or sell him knowing that his fate would be same. I sold him. I just couldn't imagine eating him. He used to follow me everywhere even into the house, only to be chased out again by a broom.

So I guess my answer is no, I wouldn't participate.

I guess that my heart is too big and too weak.
