Got To Climb Those Stairs! -- a song

To get to where you're going,
ya got to climb those stairs.
No way around it, no other course
to get from here to there!

One step at a time, each higher than before.
Climbing to that apex: get what you want and more.
It takes effort and energy, never looking back,
only moving forward, focused on the track.

One step leads to another, soon you're halfway to the top.
You need to keep on climbing; now is not the time to stop!
Work past loose stones that trip you up, dig in and muscle on,
work past the cramp, ignore the pain, else all your dreams be gone!

To get to where you're going,
ya got to climb those stairs.
Jumping, perhaps, or on hands and knees
to get from here to there.


No matter there be daggers thrown, or lightning hurled on high,
if it were easy, there'd be no gain in reaching for the sky.
Whatever you're doing, where ever you are
you need to keep on climbing, to keep reaching for that star.

Set a goal and go after it, you can do more than you know.
A bit of faith, some gumption even when the going's slow!
Stick to the plan, and plan to stick to whatever it may be,
and you will make it to the top; be what you want to be!
