Time Flies

Time flies

Time flies the older you get
The more you know the more you forget
Many regrets you now have in your life
If you had the do over would it be so nice

Where does it go one year than two
It makes you feel awful blue
So many things I wish I’d done
The years have passed now you’re a setting sun

Keep it simple you always say
Save something for a rainy day
The golden years they’re turning black
So many dreams you still lack

Some years were fun and filled with glee
You look forward to forgiveness from me
Now it’s just the past you seek
For the future looks dark and bleak

Tears fill your eyes when you think of those gone
You wonder if in life you were just a pawn
So much has been said and so much done
You fear they’ll be any more fun

But sorrow doesn’t have to fill your days
Look to the beauty of God’s golden rays
The sun shines light on creation so bright
You’ve made it this far I think you’ve won the fight.
