What is real?

Of all the plot lines, perception is most important.
Let's assume your reader does not believe the world is round.
Well, would you tell them? Sometimes, it is more profitable
to write within excepted norms.
But, it can be exhilarating to reveal the round Earth theory
to flat Earth thinkers.
You would feel like a genius amongst flat Earthers.

But, what if the Earth is flat?
Our perception is limited to five frail senses and what we are told.
Science attempts to define the world with mathematical precision.
There is, however, a lot of guess work in the scientific method.
If this does that, then that might do this.
If the radioactivity was constant, then the age of rocks can be
measured by radioactivity.. But, was it constant?
Lava is extremely radioactive and fresh. It appears to be ancient
when radioactively dated.

There are scientist, who believe in the Genesis story.
They believe the Earth is 6 thousands years old.
There are Fortean scientist, who believe the world is flat.
They argue that in a multidimensional universe, we live in a two
dimensional world, i.e. flat.
We cannot perceive anything outside our flat world.
Unless, there is an intelligence that can contact us from
the outer limits ..of our reality.

Imagine if you will.
Neil Degrassi and Richard Dawkins are playing Frisbee.
The Frisbee passes into another dimension out of sight.
All they can see is a Frisbee vanish.. What would they conclude?
As scientist, they could state that it vanished for an
unknown reason. The event could not be duplicated.
A theist would call it a supernatural event.
Perhaps, a skeptic would question if there ever was a Frisbee?

What is reality?
