Prompt: Johnny Depp said: "My sickness is that I'm fascinated by human behavior, by what's underneath the surface by the world's inside people." Joy asked how we go underneath the surface of people and their behavior. Wow. I love Johnny Depp. I had to answer this one. I work in mental health. Their behavior isn't always fascinating. Like one lady trying to hang herself, swallowing a tack, cutting themselves, lying, setting their wastebasket on fire, poking someone in the eye with an umbrella, setting off the fire alarm, chasing us with a belt, and running to the railroad track because they hear a train coming. I try to look beneath the surface. They are broken, scared, confused and can't understand why they behave like they do. I try to offer support, feel sorry for them, listen, help them all I can. I pray for them. Sometimes, I have to be firm. I give them a smile and let them know when they are bad and that we need to correct their behavior. I am happy when they leave and I don't see them again. I am not being mean. Read my reason why. This means they made it. They are getting better and can have a normal life. Johnny Depp plays interesting characters in movie like Edward Scissorshands, Willy Wonka, Captain Jack Sparrow and he does them so well so I can see why he is fascinated with human behavior. Other people I meet outside my job, have interesting personalities. I meet animal lovers like me, a writer once in awhile, good nurses, people who struggle for a living, high and mighty farmers{that's a laugh!}, people who will give you the shirt off their back and share their last loaf of bread with you. There are some who are mean and they will get what's coming to them. Beneath the surface? There are good in most people and some will never change. Bad people, I feel sorry for them. I stay away from them and if they get too close and are mean to me, they might get kicked. Human behavior. Working in mental health, I have learned a lot. Johnny D, I love you but it isn't always fascinating! ** Image ID #2078122 Unavailable ** |
